Bryan Staton was born in New Iberia in 1948, the second of four, two brothers and a sister. He has lived throughout South Louisiana and Mendoza Argentina. Married to Janice M. Staton, together they have five boys Bryan II, James Staton, Wayne Sinclair, Chris Dupuis, and Barrett Dupuis, thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Family is an essential part of life, family get togethers are always enjoyable.
He is a Parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and volunteers at the St. Teresa Center with Community of Jesus Crucified.
Bryan graduated from New Iberia High School in 1966 and graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1971, later earning a Masters in Educational Leadership in 2006. A lifelong learner he started teaching in Iberia Parish as a Special Education teacher and Honors Spanish teacher. Moving to St. Martin Parish, he taught at the Alternative School, JCEP. He loved teaching Louisiana History and Language Arts. He served as Assistant Principal at St. Martinville Jr. High and retired as a Principal at Stephensville Elementary.
Experiencing different cultures and travel has always been a passion having traveled to seven countries in North, Central, and South America. Bryan enjoys cooking, hunting and fishing specially with his sons and grandson. He enjoys reading historical accounts and James Lee Burke’s accounts of Dave Robicheaux.
